Scott turned 8 yesterday! He was excited to open presents and have cake!
There was a very large Ash tree in our back yard and we decided to have it removed for several reasons. Here are some pictures of the process.
It all started with Michelle Lewis from Ohio, and Jason Clark from California. We met on a bus in Chicago in January of 1992. This is a blog that documents our crazy life.

Why did you have to cut the tree down? It's always sad but often necessary. We tore our quaking aspens in our front yard out this year. I was sad, but they had died. Hope to be planting a new one by tomorrow.
It was fun to talk to Scot yesterday. He sounds old!!

I can't believe it was eight years ago he was born. That seems to have gone by really fast. I was there when he was born. He was such a cute little baby. Glad he had a good birthday.

I had the Ash taken out because it is going to have to be taken out in the next couple of years when the Emerald Ash Borer gets here (it's in IL and WI and migrating west) and because I want to put a garden in the back yard. We have been unable to do so to this point because there has been just too much shade.
